Form: Characteristics of the replacement: mechanical dimensions, weight, appearance  are the same as the original.

Fit: The replacement must have: the same pinouts, pin signals, etc of the original.

Function: The replacement item must have the same function as the original and exhibit the same performance.

Interface: The replacement component must be able to be accept and respond to the same stimuli as the original.
