Counterfeit: definition;

  1. A Fraudulent imitation of something else.
  2. An item made in exact imitation of something valuable with the intention to deceive or defraud.

Unfortunately counterfeit components are becoming more prevalent, especially when electronic components, and others are in scarce supply.

They can cause failure of your products when used with your customers, sometimes with catastrophic results.
