James Burke takes us through a technological journey
James Burks is a Science Historian, Author and Broadcaster.
He was born in Derry, Northern Ireland in 1936. James is well travelled and now lives and works in London, England.
In 1966 he joined as a presenter on a popular BBC programme, Tomorrows World, where he and others would show and explain new inventions and attempt to forecast how they would affect our everyday lives.
James was the anchor of the programme that covered the Apollo 11 landing on the moon on July 20, 1969, which made him famous.
James’ 1978 series ‘Connections’, which showed the connection between people and knowledge were popular around the world.
Although the programmes are now more than 40 years old, they are a fascinating technological journey through time that helps to explain our lives today.
