John Wombwell

I am originally from the City of Cambridge, United Kingdom.

After education and training, I started my career in the Electronics world while serving in the Royal Air Force.

After 10 years’ service working with RADAR and missile systems, I then worked in Saudi Arabia, Canada, USA, Oman, Australia, before returning to the UK on various technologies, from Military and Civilian RADAR and secure communication systems, medical equipment design, to Defence related and Rail industries.

All of these are high tech and hi reliability industries.

I have worked in Component Engineering and Obsolescence Mitigation and Management for the past 25 years.

Now, nearing retirement, my aim is to help others understand the need for proactive Obsolescence Management and to help businesses implement their own Obsolescence Management Plan.

I have founded CNX Technology and Innovation Group to be the vehicle to impart this information and knowledge, not only from myself, but from those with extensive knowledge of the subject.

Being a member of IIOM (International Institute of Obsolescence Management) gives access to many people with in-depth knowledge of the subject.
