Obsolescence Management Training
Module 1
Introduction
Our series of instructional modules are designed to help you and your business understand component and material obsolescence, its causes and how to mitigate its effect on your own products/production.
The information presented is in accordance with the International Electrotechnical Commission Standard:
IEC 62402:2019, which sets out requirements and guidance for obsolescence management.
Meet your trainer
My name is John K. Wombwell AIIOM, and have been working in the electronic industry since 1977.
I am from the world famous University City of Cambridge in England.
For the last 25 years I have concentrated on Component Engineering, Obsolescence Management and Counterfeit Avoidance.
The qualification (AIIOM) refers to my being an Associate of the International Institute of Obsolescence Management.
Obsolescence Education
The modules that are presented can be accessed on an individual basis, or as a complete course.
Either way, the information presented will be useful for anyone with an interest in component or material obsolescence, but especially for those with a responsibility for maintaining production within a business.
No previous knowledge is assumed, but a basic knowledge of components and materials would be of benefit
Accreditation
The modules do not provide an accreditation with any professional body but will make a firm basis for any application to such an organisation.
Whether a person has such accreditation is less important than them having the understanding of component/material obsolescence and then being able to mitigate against it.
We hope that you take advantage of the knowledge I have gained after many years of experience and look forward for your viewing the modules.
A certificate of completion from CNX Technical and Innovation Group will be provided to all that complete all modules and successfully pass the subsequent examinations.
