COGD e.V.
The Component Obsolescence Group Deutschland (COGD) e.V. is an association in Germany dedicated to addressing and mitigating the challenges of component obsolescence. As technologies rapidly evolve, the lifecycle of high-tech components and products is shortened, posing significant risks to industries such as aerospace, military, railways, power plants, and industrial automation. The COGD’s mission is to minimize the impact of obsolescence on components, materials, and software, and to ensure the longevity and reliability of critical systems.
COGD offers its members a wealth of resources and benefits, including access to comprehensive presentations and recommendations developed in collaboration with the International Institute of Obsolescence Management (IIOM) and the association’s working groups. Members participate in quarterly meetings, expert forums and working groups where they collaborate with industry experts to develop and share innovative solutions to issues related to obsolescence. This collaborative approach not only increases members’ knowledge, but also promotes a proactive attitude towards obsolescence management.
Membership of COGD means committing to excellence and reliability in product lifecycle management. The organization provides a platform for networking, knowledge sharing and practical solutions, helping companies to ensure the long-term quality and availability of their products. COGD’s expertise enables member organizations to proactively address obsolescence challenges, minimize business disruptions, and maintain competitiveness. COGD plays a central role in obsolescence management and provides its members with valuable resources and practical support to strengthen their operational stability.
